Summer Post

Filed under: All three, Summer house — tt @ 3:05 pm

We’re still here :-) Thoroughly enjoying life. The weather has been wonderful for a long while. Today it’s raining though, so we’ve persuaded the Humans finally do their job and help us at the computer (a few years ago Olivia tried operating the Man’s laptop using her talons… let’s just say it didn’t turn out very well.)

Apart from spending time in our garden, sniffing Nip and trying to catch butterflies we’ve also had time to nap and generally enjoy each other’s company. Siblings are the best after all.

Georgie or Shorty - who is neither short nor small any more - is enjoying the higher degree of freedom we have in the Summer House. The Man built us two platforms on our birch tree which are great for snoopervising both the garden, the road and the Humans when they are inside the house. This is Georgie doing his typical relaxation pose.

The Humans sometimes return with pictures from the trips they take while we’re napping. This one shows the sunset over Nexelø, a tiny island west of Sealand. A gratuitous landscape.

Summer is nice. We hope you are enjoying life out there - regardless of the season.

Pictures from the Summer House

Filed under: Both, Summer house — tt @ 6:39 pm

We’re still here - and doing fine :-) But it’s been a bit hectic around here. Once Georgie (or Shorty as we call him) got a clean bill of health he had a bit of difficulty adjusting to life in a flat. But things are improving now that we can spend more time in the Summer House. Even the Humans seem more relaxed.

Here’s some pics from the last time we were there.

Olivia with tiger stripes…

Cliff taking it easy…

Some of the many birds who live in our garden…

They take good care of their young…

And Georgie was up to his usual tricks. Here he is exploring the roof of our house. We’re not allowed to climb up there but he doesn’t think rules apply to him…

And he gets away with a lot of mischief because of his charm.

Summer greetings from

We Are Tuxies

Filed under: Cliff, Georgie — tt @ 10:13 pm

Can you tell us apart?

PS: Our Humans are terribly lazy. We’re trying to get them to visit our friends. We will succeed. We are tuxies.

Hi There!

This is Georgie. My big brother Cliff and The Mysterious and Elusive Black Cat (my brother says she’s called Olivia) said that when I felt up to it, I should properly introduce myself to their friends. So here I am to tell you a little bit about me.

This is The Mysterious and Elusive Black Cat:

I was born on Friday the 27th of August 2010, at 2.30 am.

My favourite pastimes are being around the Humans (especially in their arms or on their laps), eating, playing and sleeping.

Me, reclining on a Human (you can see where my tummy was shaven when I was at the hospital):

My favourite toy is my tail. Sometimes the Woman tells me to give it a rest, she says I might hurt myself if I play too wildly. Silly! My second favourite toy is my rubber duck, especially when the Humans let me play with him in a bowl of water :-D

Me, drinking kitten milk:

My favourite hiding places are: #1 - Inside Fred (my giant pink turtle) and #2 - Behind Cliff (he’s been very good to me and I feel safe with him).

Me and Cliff:

I moved in with my family on the 24th of January and I stay in the kitchen. The Humans tell me that in a few weeks I get to explore the other rooms. But I don’t mind staying in the kitchen; I’ve got everything I need in here.

I like my new home and my siblings. I would like to get to know The Mysterious and Elusive Black Cat better though, but she seems to dislike me. I don’t know why - I always purr and make little kitten noises when she’s around to reassure her and show her I’m not dangerous. I guess I’ll just have to give her some time.

Oh, and thanks so much for purring for me when I was at the hospital. My siblings have awesome friends.

Me, with Human:

See you later,

Georgie

Lessons for Georgie; #1 - Posing for Pictures

Filed under: Both, Cliff, Lessons for Georgie, Olivia — tt @ 6:31 pm

We take our role as adult cats in our household very serious. Our brother has lots to learn and we do our best to teach. Today’s lesson is how to pose for the camera. First is Olivia…

And here’s Cliff…

This is how to do it, Georgie. If you’re good we’ll even let you borrow our blog to post some pictures.

Georgie, his Tail and the Giant Pink Turtle

Filed under: Georgie, Olivia Reporting Live — tt @ 11:57 am

Olivia reporting.

The little strange fellow is getting better. Almost too much better, if you ask me. So I observe from a distance. Cliff doesn’t mind, but is always on the look-out for kitten food.

Here’s a short video, I managed to shoot while he was - shall we say - preoccupied.

(I made a mistake when I edited the video - it’s a turtle, not an octopussy - but it’s still ugly).

And here’s a picture of him inside that pink monstrosity.

Resting

We’re all resting around here…

Georgie is doing fine. He stays in the kitchen where it’s safe for him. He eats, drinks, cuddles and plays quiet little games. During the day he sleeps a lot - as he should. And so do we…

In the evenings we all hang out together in the kitchen where we can snoopervise the Humans when they cook and eat, and generally have a nice time. The Humans seem to be exhausted - we wonder why? How hard can it be taking care of a kitten? But maybe now when he’s finally making real progress they should take a lesson from us and rest.
