After Summer Post

Filed under: Both, Friends, Summer house — tt @ 6:22 pm

We’re in the city again and to add insult to injury it’s been raining almost non-stop for five days now :-( Our road was flooded Saturday and looked like a river.

But if we feel blue we just remind each other what a wonderful time we had at the Summer house. We spent 1½ months there with the Humans, chilling out thoroughly. The chilling out is also the reason we haven’t been visiting and blogging. We’ve missed our friends so now we’re busy catching up.

Here’s a picture of Olivia chilling on our bench. Olivia: I may look fierce but I’m actually smiling at the Man and his camera.

The sun was shining most of the time we were there. The flowers were blooming and the air filled with butterflies and other interesting insects e.g. dragonflies. They are fun to watch and sometimes we even felt like they were watching us too.

Cliff true to form never missed a chance to pursue his primary interest; food. Here he’s been caught trying to steal inspecting the Humans food…

There were lots of diversions too. Every morning without fail Ferdinand - one of the kittens from last summer now a grown mancat - came to visit. This is us on the inside…

And beautiful Ferdinand on the outside beside our lavenders. He’s a very good friend.

Our woofie friends visited as well :-) The Humans were entertaining other humans from time to time. It’s always interesting to meet their friends.

All in all a wonderful time far away from the city. The Humans tell us that summer is far from over and that we’ll spend many more hours in the sun in the Summer house.

Purrs to our friends,

Cliff & Olivia

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

If anybody were wondering what we’re doing when we’re at the Summerhouse. These pictures clearly show we’re very busy…

This is Olivia at mid-day or noon…

This is Cliff at the same time…

Here we are two hours after…

The reason why we’re sleeping a lot during the day is that at night all sorts of fascinating things happen. E.g. when the sun sets the bats come out! We watch them from our garden - and sometimes the humans sit in our garden and watch them with us. They are elegant and acrobatic flyers. Amazing to watch.

Summer - And Time For Time Off

Filed under: Both, Gardening Post, Summer house — T T @ 7:08 pm

We’re still here. But we’ve been away for much too long. The Humans have been too busy to help us blog and visit our friends :-( And we’ve missed you! We’ve given them a hard time about it, but at least they’ve been spending their free time with us, so we’re fine :-)

The Humans have promised us that there’ll be more time for visiting and blogging now. They say we’re all taking time off, having a vacation, some time to enjoy summer. Whatever that means we’re looking forward to it.

They even say they’ve fixed something called a “connection” at our Summer house which means we can visit our friends from there and blog about our life there.

Our garden looks wonderful right now. The valerians, which were tiny last year, are now taller than the Humans and have white and pink flowers that smell very nice. The Humans have rearranged our garden a bit - and we like it even more now. Here are some pics:

We’re looking forward to visiting you soon :-)

Purrs,

Cliff & Olivia

PS: I’m trying my best to get the Humans to visit our friends and leave some messages. See…

The Amazing Olivia Tin

We’ve discovered a new thing in our apartment. It’s a magical tin and it sits on our kitchen shelf; The Amazing Olivia Tin!

It has three compartments in which there are yummy treats. So we have to watch it carefully. And sometimes if we stare at it and stare at the Humans and meow loudly we’re lucky, the Humans help us open it…

The Humans say that the figure on the tin is a cat… We don’t believe them!

Eight Years Old Today

Today is our Birthday. We’re eight years old.

The Humans tells us that eight “cat years” is equivalent to about 48 “human years”. This means we’re actually several years older than the Humans now. Which in turn must mean that they have to treat us with a certain degree of respect, and that every important decision in the household must be made by us, since we’re older and wiser. We’re not sure they’ve realised this fact yet…

The day started with a Birthday “song” from our woofie friends, Balder, Frodo and in the background, Emma:

Then we had some of our favorite food. Cliff had potatoes, and Olivia had peas (as you can see in the background).

Then we had a wonderful day. Outside with our grass and nip in the cat yard.

Or inside looking out.

We hope our friends had a wonderful day today on our birthday.

Garden

Filed under: Both, Friends, Gardening Post, Summer house — tt @ 3:10 pm

This our first gardening post. We’re a day late since members of Society of Feline Gardeners are supposed to post on Thursday. Here in DK today’s a national holiday and the Humans have the day off - and time to help us blog. We hope it’s OK, Jonesie :-)

Important pictures first. Here’s a few of this years catnip which grow in our cat yard…

Still in the yard. Where you can see our Valerian and some fancy grass plants…

While we were in our yard, the Humans were working on something big in our front garden. It turned out to be a mound with stones and Stone-breakers. It turned out very nice. Cliff climbed it on one of his walks and he approved of it. One of our human neighbours came by with a friend and helped move a big stone close to it (will post pictures later) so now the mound has built-in seating :-D

This is one of our apple trees, just about to bloom…

A Snake’s Head…

and a Grape Hyacinth…

We spent a lot of time looking out the window…

studying all the different birds who live in our garden…

But then we spotted something different…

No, this is not Olivia…

This is Mulle, rolling around in the newly sowed grass seeds. He was helping our Woman spread them, he said. She couldn’t get mad at him ’cause he’s so charming and cuddly :-)

Wishing our friends a wonderful weekend.

Evil Snooping Pigeon

Filed under: Cliff, Courtyard, Olivia, Olivia Reporting Live — T T @ 4:21 pm

Strange things have been going on around here. A few days ago there were loud noises coming from the back courtyard. Naturally I went into the kitchen to investigate from the window. And lo and behold! There were men just outside my kitchen window - and we live on the fourth floor! They seemed to be building a scaffolding, but for what purpose I have no idea… yet.

And then this morning when I went into the kitchen to do my usual snooping on the neighbours look the sky and trees from the window, I saw this:

An evil snooping pigeon sitting on the scaffolding right outside my window! And he didn’t even bother to conceal his snooping, he stared me straight in the eye! I’m sure he’s up to no good, but I’m not sure what. So once again it’s up to me to find out what’s going on - and do my best to protect the Humans and my brother, the big pussycat:

This was Olivia reporting from the flat, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Friends

We’re really lucky and grateful to have friends on line :-) And since we got the Summer house we’ve got friends there too. Here are some (more) pictures of them.

This is Tut. She lives across the street and she’s a bit shy. Here she is sitting on the stump left of one of the three big poplar trees. The Humans had to have the trees taken down because they were very old and if they fell during autumn storms they’d hit the house.

This next picture might look odd; Cliff inside the cat yard, Olivia outside…

But that’s not Olivia, it’s Mulle, Cliff’s best friend. Well, actually Mulle is everybody’s friend. He’s kind to everyone, cats, dogs, humans. He’s always in a good mood, always likes to cuddle and is a delight to be around. When we were in the Summer house last time the Woman was working in the garden and Mulle came to help her and stayed with us the whole day. He even caught her a mouse, a small brown one which he ate himself after he had presented it to her (we’re embarrassed to say we missed the mouse part of the story because we were napping inside).

Finally here’s a picture of our Easter Trees. The Humans waited until a few days ago to take down the eggs because the were so pretty.

Have a nice weekend.

Waiting for News

Filed under: Both — tt @ 11:25 am

We’ve tried to tell the Humans, that we’re waiting for news from our friends. And we’ve tried to tell them that in order to get news, they have to help us read the blogs.

They say no. “You two can wait by the phone”. Well it was sunshine, so we guess it’s all right, but news on the phone?! Come-on, Humans, you can do better than that!

PS: We’ve made the humans promise that they’ll help us for real visiting our friends and make some comments.
