We’re in the city again and to add insult to injury it’s been raining almost non-stop for five days now
Our road was flooded Saturday and looked like a river.
But if we feel blue we just remind each other what a wonderful time we had at the Summer house. We spent 1½ months there with the Humans, chilling out thoroughly. The chilling out is also the reason we haven’t been visiting and blogging. We’ve missed our friends so now we’re busy catching up.
Here’s a picture of Olivia chilling on our bench. Olivia: I may look fierce but I’m actually smiling at the Man and his camera.

The sun was shining most of the time we were there. The flowers were blooming and the air filled with butterflies and other interesting insects e.g. dragonflies. They are fun to watch and sometimes we even felt like they were watching us too.
Cliff true to form never missed a chance to pursue his primary interest; food. Here he’s been caught trying to steal inspecting the Humans food…

There were lots of diversions too. Every morning without fail Ferdinand - one of the kittens from last summer now a grown mancat - came to visit. This is us on the inside…

And beautiful Ferdinand on the outside beside our lavenders. He’s a very good friend.

Our woofie friends visited as well
The Humans were entertaining other humans from time to time. It’s always interesting to meet their friends.
All in all a wonderful time far away from the city. The Humans tell us that summer is far from over and that we’ll spend many more hours in the sun in the Summer house.
Purrs to our friends,
Cliff & Olivia
If anybody were wondering what we’re doing when we’re at the Summerhouse. These pictures clearly show we’re very busy…
This is Olivia at mid-day or noon…

This is Cliff at the same time…

Here we are two hours after…

The reason why we’re sleeping a lot during the day is that at night all sorts of fascinating things happen. E.g. when the sun sets the bats come out! We watch them from our garden - and sometimes the humans sit in our garden and watch them with us. They are elegant and acrobatic flyers. Amazing to watch.
Cliff and Olivia
We’re still here. But we’ve been away for much too long. The Humans have been too busy to help us blog and visit our friends
And we’ve missed you! We’ve given them a hard time about it, but at least they’ve been spending their free time with us, so we’re fine
The Humans have promised us that there’ll be more time for visiting and blogging now. They say we’re all taking time off, having a vacation, some time to enjoy summer. Whatever that means we’re looking forward to it.
They even say they’ve fixed something called a “connection” at our Summer house which means we can visit our friends from there and blog about our life there.
Our garden looks wonderful right now. The valerians, which were tiny last year, are now taller than the Humans and have white and pink flowers that smell very nice. The Humans have rearranged our garden a bit - and we like it even more now. Here are some pics:

We’re looking forward to visiting you soon
Purrs,
Cliff & Olivia
PS: I’m trying my best to get the Humans to visit our friends and leave some messages. See…

Today is our Birthday. We’re eight years old.
The Humans tells us that eight “cat years” is equivalent to about 48 “human years”. This means we’re actually several years older than the Humans now. Which in turn must mean that they have to treat us with a certain degree of respect, and that every important decision in the household must be made by us, since we’re older and wiser. We’re not sure they’ve realised this fact yet…
The day started with a Birthday “song” from our woofie friends, Balder, Frodo and in the background, Emma:

Then we had some of our favorite food. Cliff had potatoes, and Olivia had peas (as you can see in the background).

Then we had a wonderful day. Outside with our grass and nip in the cat yard.

Or inside looking out.

We hope our friends had a wonderful day today on our birthday.
Cliff & Olivia
This our first gardening post. We’re a day late since members of Society of Feline Gardeners are supposed to post on Thursday. Here in DK today’s a national holiday and the Humans have the day off - and time to help us blog. We hope it’s OK, Jonesie
Important pictures first. Here’s a few of this years catnip which grow in our cat yard…

Still in the yard. Where you can see our Valerian and some fancy grass plants…

While we were in our yard, the Humans were working on something big in our front garden. It turned out to be a mound with stones and Stone-breakers. It turned out very nice. Cliff climbed it on one of his walks and he approved of it. One of our human neighbours came by with a friend and helped move a big stone close to it (will post pictures later) so now the mound has built-in seating

This is one of our apple trees, just about to bloom…

A Snake’s Head…

and a Grape Hyacinth…

We spent a lot of time looking out the window…

studying all the different birds who live in our garden…

But then we spotted something different…

No, this is not Olivia…

This is Mulle, rolling around in the newly sowed grass seeds. He was helping our Woman spread them, he said. She couldn’t get mad at him ’cause he’s so charming and cuddly

Wishing our friends a wonderful weekend.
Cliff & Olivia
We’re really lucky and grateful to have friends on line
And since we got the Summer house we’ve got friends there too. Here are some (more) pictures of them.
This is Tut. She lives across the street and she’s a bit shy. Here she is sitting on the stump left of one of the three big poplar trees. The Humans had to have the trees taken down because they were very old and if they fell during autumn storms they’d hit the house.

This next picture might look odd; Cliff inside the cat yard, Olivia outside…

But that’s not Olivia, it’s Mulle, Cliff’s best friend. Well, actually Mulle is everybody’s friend. He’s kind to everyone, cats, dogs, humans. He’s always in a good mood, always likes to cuddle and is a delight to be around. When we were in the Summer house last time the Woman was working in the garden and Mulle came to help her and stayed with us the whole day. He even caught her a mouse, a small brown one which he ate himself after he had presented it to her (we’re embarrassed to say we missed the mouse part of the story because we were napping inside).
Finally here’s a picture of our Easter Trees. The Humans waited until a few days ago to take down the eggs because the were so pretty.

Have a nice weekend.
Cliff & Olivia
It truly is springtime here. We took the Humans to the summer house for Easter and we had a couple of pretty nice sunny days.
The signs of spring were clear…
Olivia and the Woman ate fresh peas in the sun (they were not from our garden - much too early for that - they were from Italy, but the both of them sure seemed to enjoy them).

I did some birdwatching. Always a nice way to spend the time. This time I was watching Verner. He’s a really fat pigeon who’s famous in the neighbourhood. He’s so fat his tummy rests on the ground and sometimes he has problems with take of
Everybody knows him because he’s really cool too. He’s not afraid of anything; big dogs, humans, cats, other birds, Verner is not threatened by anything. Here is a picture of me, watching Verner…

And more signs of spring. See what I’m sitting on! Little green things in our cat yard.

Olivia and I would like our friends to know that we’ve missed you a lot. The Humans have been taking some time of, they apparently needed it, and we decided not to give them a hard time. Unfortunately it meant that we haven’t been able to visit you
But now they’re back and we’ll be by to say hello soon.
While we were away we were given an award! Our wonderful friends at Team Tabby gave us a Beautiful Blogger Award…

Thank you so much! It’s a really cool award. This award requires that we reveal seven things about us and then we need to pass the award on to seven more bloggers to continue the fun!
- Olivia is a nervous pooper. When she doesn’t want to go into the cat carrier she… well… she poops. Pretty embarrassing, right!?
- Cliff gets irritated if the Humans don’t want to cuddle at night - then he just lies down on their heads and purrs loudly until they react.
- Olivia steals green vegetables when she can; salad, broccoli, asparagus etc. - and leaves a mess on the kitchen table.
- Cliff is feeling better. His back is not hurting as much as it did, thanks to his supplements. Yeah!
- Olivia is in her spring mood, loving every sunbeam and getting into everything the Woman does - the Woman loves this!
- Cliff has a best friend called Mulle. He’s a lovely black mancat and they like to hang out together when we’re at the summer house.
- We both know when the Man is due home each day - and we sit and wait for him in the hallway.
We’d like to pass the award on to our friends
Cliff and Olivia
We spent the weekend at the Summer house. We had a great time. Almost all the snow had disappeared and the sun shone from a clear blue sky, so we could stay outside - and even nibble a bit at the dried nip plants from last year.

PS: The green plants aren’t nip but thyme. The nip is to the left.
We enjoyed the sunshine on the inside as well.

And were very active awaiting dinner.

We didn’t want to go home, but we were good and made no fuss when the Humans put us in our carriers and took us back to the city in the big box on wheels. Of course we should have suspected something when they removed our dried cat food late Sunday evening…
Early Monday morning they wanted to put us into the carriers again. How rude! We had only just returned to the flat the evening before and we hadn’t even had our breakfast! Naturally we made it really difficult for them, but soon we were in the box on wheels and had no idea where we were going.
They took us to the vet and left us there. The people at the vet are nice so it wasn’t that bad. But we had to be sedated to have our teeth cleaned. And they took some x-rays of Cliff’s spine.
A few hours later the Humans returned to pick us up. We were a bit groggy but otherwise fine.
The vet told the Humans that Cliff has a condition in his lower spine which has a fancy name in Latin. It’s not serious but he has to eat some kind of dietary supplement every day for the rest of his life to prevent it from getting any worse (and to add insult to injury it’s called “aktiv hund” = “active dog”). The Woman and Cliff are forming a club (she has problems with her lower spine too) and now they want special treatment from the Man and me. Not fair!

The Humans have promised us that we never have to have our teeth cleaned at the vet any more. That means we have to have our teeth brushed every day. And it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds ’cause we get lots of cuddles and the “toothpaste” tastes really nice

Today - according to the calendar - it’s spring. It doesn’t look like spring. The winds are blowing and snow is coming down from the skies. But we know it’s spring. Because we were at the summer house this weekend. And we saw spring… look…

When we arrived everything was white, but the Humans said it was thaw, so the snow would disappear soon. There was a lot of snow on our terrace and we don’t like that much snow - much too cold. But the Woman shovelled it all away! So we could go outside and look for spring. And it was there; birds were singing and building nests, the sun was shining, little green things were sprouting from the earth.
We were both outside in our courtyard. There were lots of snow there too, but Olivia braved it to go and sit on her favourite stone…

Temperatures were above zero all weekend so we could stay outside for a long time. We didn’t sleep for most of the night; we just sat and snoopervised night creatures outside the house. It was good to be back. The Humans seemed to think so too. So we spent the Sunday relaxing…

The Humans took pictures of course - and even videos (we’ll post some later). But they’re not always that clever with a camera. This is me, Cliff, running from evil snow…

Can’t wait to go back.
Cliff & Olivia
Today is the last day in the country - for now. I’m not pleased and I’m looking that way. The Humans think I look like an owl. Talk about adding insult to injury.

But we’re nice cats and decided to pose for some beauty shots. That seems to make the humans happy.

Cliff somehow managed to get into my picture, but that’s OK with me. He’s just a silly mancat.
